Standalone remote? Flip key? Remote head key? Auburn Lock & Car Keys programs all types of automotive remotes to your vehicle on-site. Cheaper than the dealer, no appointment needed, mobile service across Auburn and South King County.
"Remote key" is a catch-all term that covers a few different physical formats:
All of them require programming to be paired with your specific vehicle's body control module before the buttons will do anything. A new remote bought online or from a parts store is just a hunk of plastic until it's programmed.
There are three main programming methods depending on your vehicle:
Call (253) 796-8550 with your vehicle year/make/model and what kind of remote you've got, and we'll quote programming on the spot.
Got a new fob from Amazon or eBay — the buttons don't do anything when you press them. Needs to be paired to your car. We program.
Battery is fresh, fob looks fine, but the car doesn't respond. Sometimes a remote loses its sync and needs to be re-registered.
Want an extra working fob for another driver or as a backup. We program additional remotes to your existing system.
Vehicle came with just a metal key — no remote at all. We source and program a working remote in the same visit.
Most remote programming takes 15-45 minutes from when we arrive.
Vehicle year/make/model checked against our database. We verify the remote you have (or want) actually works with your car.
Most cars: OBD-II port connection. Some on-board sequence programming if applicable. Specialty vehicles: direct module access.
New remote registered with the body control module. We add it to the authorized list (and optionally deactivate any lost / stolen remotes).
Lock, unlock, trunk, panic, remote start (if equipped) — every button on every newly programmed remote tested before payment.
