Standard Motorcycle Key vs. Transponder Key vs. Smart Key

- Transponder / chip keys (most 2008-present bikes) — Have an embedded chip that must be paired to the bike's immobilizer (like Honda HISS, Yamaha Immobilizer, Kawasaki KIPASS, BMW EWS, Ducati immo system).
- Smart / proximity keys (newer touring bikes from BMW, Harley, Honda, etc.) — Keyless ignition with a fob you keep in your pocket. Premium service.

- VIN (etched on the frame neck or under the seat — helps us bring the right blank)
- Proof of ownership — registration, title, or insurance card matching your ID
- If you have a working key, bring it — cheaper and faster to duplicate than to make from scratch
